How to become President of the RCGP

#GPFUQ 170 How do you win a presidential RCGP election? You need 95% luck and a 5% mix of knowledge, skills, understanding, and self belief. This is the result of the 2015 election The president is the only College Officer position elected by the whole College membership in a national ballot and it uses the single transferable vote system.  This year 7,325 (20%) of the 36,735 eligible voters voted and I won each round of the voting. I was the first choice of 26% (of 4 candidates), and 51.8% (of  the final 2 candidates). My final 3,184 votes represents 8.7% of the eligible votes. Equal numbers of votes were cast by post and on line. At the last election in 2012 5,174 (16.4%) of the 31,623 voters (86% by post). Mike Pringle won the final vote with 2438 (59%) of the final 2 candidates. His final vote represented 7.7% of the eligible votes.
